Dr. Sanjay Morzaria

Dr. Morzaria is a fellowship-trained laryngologist with advanced training in voice and airway surgery, specializing in voice feminization procedures. He completed a dedicated laryngology fellowship at Stanford University and has over a decade of experience treating complex voice disorders as a clinical assistant professor at the University of British Columbia and in tertiary care practice.  He offers individualized, evidence-based voice feminization surgery with a strong emphasis on safety, vocal health, and long-term outcomes, working closely with specialized voice therapists to help patients achieve a voice that aligns authentically with their gender identity.

2009-2010

Laryngology Fellowship

Stanford University

Dr. Morzaria completed a dedicated fellowship in laryngology at Stanford University, where he received advanced subspecialty training in voice, airway, and swallowing disorders within a high-volume tertiary referral center. This fellowship provided intensive exposure to complex laryngeal surgery, advanced endoscopic techniques, and multidisciplinary voice care, with a strong focus on functional outcomes. Since completing fellowship, he has been in independent practice for over 18 years and has performed hundreds of laryngeal procedures, allowing him to apply this specialized training to a broad range of complex voice conditions with an emphasis on precision, safety, and long-term results.

1998-2005

Otolaryngology 

UBC

Dr. Morzaria completed his Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery residency at the University of British Columbia, gaining broad and rigorous training across all aspects of ENT care in major academic and community hospitals. During residency, he developed a strong foundation in head and neck anatomy, operative surgery, and perioperative management, while also taking on leadership roles and contributing to teaching and research. He also completed a Master’s degree in Clinical Epidemiology during this period, strengthening his skills in critical appraisal, outcomes research, and evidence-based practice.

1995-1998

Doctor of Medicine

McMaster University

Dr. Morzaria earned his Doctor of Medicine degree at McMaster University, following an undergraduate Honours Bachelor of Science in Physiology with a minor in Anthropology from the University of Toronto. His medical training emphasized problem-based learning, clinical reasoning, and patient-centred care, and was complemented by early involvement in research, global health initiatives, and academic scholarship. These experiences laid the groundwork for a career combining clinical excellence, analytical thinking, and a lifelong commitment to learning.

Ms. Sherri Zelazny

Ms. Zelazny was born and raised in Massachusetts and completed her undergraduate training in Speech Pathology and Audiology at Ithaca College, followed by a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology at New York University. Early in her training, she knew she had found the right profession—helping people communicate and reclaim their voice is both powerful and deeply meaningful. She now plays a central role in providing specialized voice feminization therapy through the True Voice program and as part of the Changing Keys BC team, supporting individuals in developing a voice that aligns with their gender identity while prioritizing vocal health and sustainability. Over the course of her career, including nearly a decade at the University of Wisconsin–Madison Voice and Swallow Clinic and since relocating to Surrey, BC in 2011, she has focused her practice on voice and laryngeal airway disorders, working closely with surgical teams to provide integrated, affirming care before and after voice surgery.
